“We’ve never been more excited to launch a new year of mountain biking holidays than when we first opened up shop back in 2007,” says Euan Wilson, owner, H+I Adventures. “We have many wonderful surprises up our sleeves for the 2016 season, especially in well-known adventure destinations like New Zealand and Chile. It’s truly never been a better time to join our international clan of adventurers.”
New Adventures in 2016
Storm the South Island
New Zealand is an adrenaline junkie’s paradise and appropriately known as the adventure capital of the world. This thirteen-day mountain biking journey begins in the garden city of Christchurch and wraps up in the mountain biking mecca of Queenstown. Intermediate riders will tackle the region’s best single and doubletrack, exploring the backcountry with H+I’s expert Kiwi guide.
The summits on this trip are epic, including a ridge-line ride 1600m above sea level between Mount Rosa and Ben Cruachan, as well as a 1400m climb up Old Ghost Road for sweeping panoramic views of the rainforest below.
In between plunging descents and larger-than-life vistas, H+I mountain bikers will explore the natural landscape whilst whale-watching in Kaikoura and hiking Mount Cook, the country’s highest peak, to view glaciers. Add in a hot springs soak and a leisurely whirl around the trails at beautiful Lake Wanaka and travellers will see why this country is the ultimate destination for mountain biking.
The trip debuts January 25th, 2016 and is available to book now. Rates start at $3,910 USD.
Additional departures include March 11th and November 21st, 2016. Learn more at mountainbikeworldwide.com/bike-tours/new-zealand
Chile and Patagonia – a first look!
The newest trip to launch from H+I Adventures, this two-wheeled exploration of Chile has travellers pedaling on the flanks of active volcanoes, through thick araucaría forests, and high up Andean mountain passes. Expertly guided by a local Chilean, mountain bikers will also enjoy a traditional Chilean ‘asado’ (barbecue), soak tired muscles in natural hot springs, spot the Milky Way in the clear night skies of Patagonia, kayak around icebergs up to Grey Glacier, and hike to the foot of the Torres del Paine massif in Patagonia.
The 12-day journey debuts November 2016, and will be available to book in early December 2015.
H+I Adventures’ mission is to get mountain bikers closer to the true character of the world’s most inspiring places, revealing the hidden gems of what makes a place so special that only locals know about. Additional trips in 2016 include a mountain biking safari in Namibia, taste and trails adventure in Scotland, lively festival departures in Mexico and many more.
