Our first view in Albuquerque was the Sandia Mountains seen from our hotel balcony. It was Griffin’s first time seeing mountains and he was in awe. I’ve seen mountains before, but there was something majestic about the Sandias. Sandia means ‘watermelon’ and I’m told they are named as such due to the pinkish/reddish colour that the mountains appear to turn at sunset.

We had the awesome opportunity of riding on the Sandia Peak Tramway up to the top of the Sandia Mountains, and here is our experience in photos.
