After a great visit to the Columbus Zoo, we were excited for another great day seeing the sights.

We started out our third day in Columbus with a trip to the North Market. The market has a huge variety of vendors who are making and selling fabulous finds. The kids each had cookies that were as big as their heads from the Expressly Market Bakery & Bistro, and we had a nice chat with the very friendly guy working there, who is looking for a nice Canadian girl if anyone out there is interested, lol.

There is a strong community feel at the North Market. Each vendor has a brochure with their photographs on the front. There are picnic tables outside to sit and enjoy whatever treats you purchase at the market, or you can go to the upper level and get comfortable in some seats there.

We browsed around and saw so many delicious looking baked goods, deli meats, sandwiches, candy and treats. We watched them make handmade pretzels at br─ôzel , and tasted some sweet beverages at Bubbles, the Tea & Juice Company. On someone’s recommendation, we stopped at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams and each had a cone. Griffin tried a Wildberry Lavender cone, which tasted just like Fruit Loops and was a gorgeous lavender colour. Kellen and Avery played it safe with chocolate ice cream that they said was delicious, and Mike had a Salty Caramel cone that he said is the best ice cream he has ever had. I went with the Brown Butter Almond Brittle, which was delightful! You can learn more about Jeni’s on her website . Since we like to do things right, we followed our cookies and ice cream with some pizza from Sarefino’s. It was the perfect lunch!

Next we were off to Cosi. Wow! There is so much to see at Cosi. I have been to a few Science Centers and I have always maintained that Toronto had the best one ever, and while I still love the Toronto Science Centre, Cosi is by far the most interactive and fun science center I have ever visited. There was so much to see and do there that I have dedicated a whole post to it.

After our day at Cosi, we went back to the California Pizza Kitchen because we loved it so much the first time. Our server was Tom this time and he was just as great as Jessica. I would love to know their secret as to how they get their wait staff to all be so fun and personable, because all restaurants would be great with staff like that. We took Jessica’s suggestion and ordered the Chipotle chicken pizza and Avocado Egg Rolls as an appetizer, and since we had a coupon for a free appetizer we also ordered chips and White Corn Guacamole & Chips, which were both delicious. I am so glad she suggested them to us, because I would never have ordered them otherwise. I thought the Chipotle Chicken Pizza was okay, but not as good as the California Club pizza I had. Mike thought it was great though. The kids had pepperoni pizza and they all ate it this time. We brought back our coupon for the staff to open, and kept our fingers crossed for $100,000 … but settled for 10% off our meal. With our two coupons, we fed a family of 5, including two appetizers, for just over $30. It costs more than that for us to get McDonalds at home!

It was another great day and we were all ready for bed, so we settled back in at the Hilton for the night.
