For many, the family vacation is a time to get away and engage with one another without the regular interruptions of phone calls, friends at the door and work that needs to be done. As a work at home mother, I find that I get to see my children more than many parents, but the opportunities to really connect are often interrupted by deadlines and appointments. When we boarded the MSC Divina for a family cruise, we took advantage of that time together.
A cruise is the perfect vacation for families who need some time together without technology. The MSC Divina has fabulous kids’ programs that I will tell you about in a future blog post, and there are many great family activities for children who would rather stay with mom and dad. Here are some of the activities we enjoyed on board the ship:
- Swim in the salt water pools
- Relax in the hot tubs
- Coast down the waterslide
- Splash in the Aquapark
- Play games at the arcade
- Test your car racing skills in the Formula 1 Race Car
- Experience the 4D Cinema
- Challenge the kids at bowling & enjoy some snacks in the Sports Bar
- Watch full length movies from the pool deck in the evenings
- Catch an evening show in the Pantheon Theatre
- Shoot hoops on the basketball court
- Check out some board games and have a game night in the state room
- Treat your tastebuds to ice cream, milkshakes or sweets in the cafe
- Dress up for the theme dinners and eat together as a family every day
- Order room service to your state room for some quiet time together
- Spoil the kids with some Lego while shopping on board
- Join the family activities put on by the Kids Clubs
- Take advantage of the shore excursions
A family cruise on the MSC Divina is elegant and exciting; relaxing and entertaining; adventurous and educational. There is so much to offer for all types of families.
