Last week, after much anticipation, my family loaded into the van for a warm week in Kissimmee, Florida. Thanks to Air Miles, we were able to fly out of Toronto with WestJet. This made for a much faster and nicer trip than driving would have! The kids were so excited to be on their first flight ever. Kellen has a fascination with airplanes, and he was bursting at the seams with excitement! It was a smooth flight that everyone enjoyed, and we were finally in Florida!

It was warm 🙂

But the warmth wasn’t the only wonderful thing in Florida. The house that we were staying in with Global Resort Homes was incredible. The house backs onto a golf course, and was surrounded in beautiful scenery. The kids were squealing with delight about the pool and spa that was in our yard, but we were all speechless when we stepped inside the house. It was amazing.

Here is a very shaky and amateur video I took to show you the house. I really need to work on my videographer skills!

The kids loved this house, and so did I. It was more than twice the size of our home, lol. It was amazing to have a space to relax and have some quiet while the kids were playing in another part of the house. They loved having televisions in their rooms, something I have not allowed at home, and Avery was like a princess in that huge bedroom with ensuite. She told me she wants a room like that someday. I think she will have it.

The pool was the highlight of the house. They had a great time swimming, and I loved that it was fenced off so that I didn’t have to worry about them being on the pool deck. We swam during the day, and there were pool lights so we were able to swim at night too. I loved the spa. Between it and the jet tub, I was very relaxed!

A gas barbecue was on the patio, so we were able to enjoy some grilled steaks one night too. Beyond the pool and above the garage, there was an in-law suite that housed another bedroom with a queen size bed, a living area, a kitchenette and washroom. Since we didn’t need that extra space, or 4 of the beds that were in the main house, I didn’t spend any time in there, and forgot to take pictures! Here are a couple more pictures from the main house though…

This would be the perfect vacation house to share with one or two other families. And the rates are very reasonable with split between families and there’s plenty of room for everyone. I think it would make the perfect spot for family reunions. You can read more about the home we stayed at here, and Global Resort Homes offers many other gorgeous homes in the Kissimmee and Orlando area.
