If you haven’t watched the new Star Wars movie, you won’t understand this Rey Disney bound. That’s okay, because you shouldn’t be wasting your time on the internet when you could be at a theatre enjoying The Force Awakens.

Go ahead. Come back when you’re done.

If you choose to read this first, I promise not to spoil anything for you.

ReyWhat is Disney Bounding?

Disney Bounding is the act of dressing to represent a Disney character. It is not wearing costumes, but putting together an outfit that would be perceived as a regular outfit, but could also be identified as being reminiscent of a Disney character.

Disneyland and Walt Disney World both prohibit adults from entering the parks wearing costumes. This ensures that children do not confuse regular park goers with Disney characters. Disney Bounding began when a Disney enthusiast wanted to show her love of Disney characters, without breaking the dress code rules of the Disney Parks.

While this is a cleaner and a little less rugged look than Rey’s true look, I think it reflects her style and personality. The way that you wear the scarf and belt are definitely important when attempting to portray Rey. A stick is also a great addition, but I’m fairly certain that Disney security would ask you to leave that behind.

My son has challenged me to come up with more disney bounds for The Force Awakens, and I’m doing my best to live up to his expectations. Take a look at the BB8 Disney Bound, and come back next Friday to see what we have next.

    1. That’s great! The whole idea is to come up with real outfits that people can wear anytime, but also represent a Disney character.
