While I love to travel and want to go to many incredible places, Las Vegas was never on my list of “must go” places. I have never been in a casino and I’m way too fond of my money to gamble it, lol… so Vegas didn’t interest me. Then I met a sculptor who offers classes in Vegas, and I started to think that I would love to go just to take his class, and I started doing some research on the area and learned that there are a lot of things to do in Vegas other than gambling.

One of the most exciting things to me, is the Titanic Artifact Exhibition. I am fascinated by the Titanic story and have visited one of the traveling exhibits before, and it was fabulous. I would love to get a chance to visit the one in Las Vegas. If you are into car racing or off roading, there are opportunities to watch and participate in that type of thing in Vegas. And the adventurous type can try some indoor skydiving. That actually sound really cool to me, and since I will never actually jump out of a plane, I should take advantage of it someday!

I recently flew over the Grand Canyon and while I always thought it would be cool to see someday, now I really want to see it up close. It was phenomenal from the sky, and I have some blogger friends in the area who I would love to meet as well. I think that camping at the Grand Canyon would be really cool.

I suppose if I was in Las Vegas, I would also go into a casino just to see what it’s all about, but I can’t see myself gambling at all. I have trouble spending a dollar on a scratch ticket, because I might not win, lol. I’m definitely not the gambling type!

Have you ever been to Las Vegas? What kinds of things did you do there?

  1. Born and raised here in Las Vegas so I’m pretty sure I’ve done it all and then some. I think the coolest aspect is that there is always something to do and everything is easily accessible, even on a weeknight at 1-2am!

  2. We are big Vegas fans for the “traditional” reasons. But we don’t gamble very much at all. We eat a few fancy restaurants, do some shopping, and drink far too much alcohol since we don’t have to be responsible for a few days!

  3. Last time I went I was just on the strip, but next time I want to leave and go see the natural beauty a bit!

  4. My husband and I visited Vegas about a year before my first child was born. We had So much fun! I would love to go back some day.

  5. I love Las Vegas! I have been twice – once with a few friends and once for my 30th birthday with my partner and a group of friends.

Both times we didn’t see any of the shows or gamble – but had an amazing time and were NEVER lacking things to do/see! We checked out the sights each casino was famous for (IE the volcano at the Mirage, the fountains at the Bellagio), saw a few sights like the wax museum, took a trip to old vegas on Fremont street and took advantage of the beautiful weather to enjoy the pools.

SO, I am a firm believer that Vegas can be enjoyable even if you aren’t into casinos!
