I Survived Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Orlando #HHN24 #FacingFearsTogether

When I was ten years old, I attended a friend’s birthday party where she had selected two horror movies to watch. I sat through Friday the 13th getting more and more anxious with each passing scene. While the second movie played, I enjoyed a game of Monopoly in the kitchen with my friend’s Mom. For the next three decades I would still have nightmares about Friday the 13th and I avoided all horror movies, and then The Walking Dead came into my life. My husband started watching The Walking Dead on Netflix and I set up my computer screen...

Retail Therapy in Niagara Falls

Shopping in Niagara When travelling abroad, most people like to indulge in a little retail therapy. Either they will want to buy items that they could not buy anywhere else in the world or they want to get souvenirs for friends and family from their travels. I love to shop when I am on holiday, so I was pleased to find that the location of my hotel in Niagara was in easy walking distance of some of the top shopping spot in this area. I discovered that there was lots of choice depending on what you were shopping for...

Calaway Park: Family Fun in Calgary

Canada has many tourist treasures, and Calgary is no exception to the rule. The Calgary Zoo, Hertiage Park, and the Calgary Tower are all excellent family getaways in Calgary, as is Calaway Park, Western Canada’s Largest Outdoor Family Amusement Park. I love amusement parks, so this is one that I am especially interested in. Calaway Park is Western Canada’s Largest Outdoor Family Amusement Park. The park opened its doors in 1982 and has grown from a small amusement park to one of Calgary and Western Canada’s best attractions and is now celebrating its 29th anniversary in 2010! The park...

See Animals from Around the World at African Lion Safari

Just a short drive away from my home town is one of Ontario’s treasures, African Lion Safari. I have had the pleasure of visiting African Lion Safari a few times in my life but it had been several years since my last visit and my youngest child had never had the chance, so we finished our summer off with a day trip to see the animals. At African Lion Safari you can take your own vehicle on a safari through the Large Game Reserves. I have done this in the past and it’s a fun way to get a...

Find History & Adventure in Niagara Falls, New York

I have been to Niagara Falls many times in my life, most often on the Canadian side of the border. As it often happens when one lives in close proximity to a landmark or tourist attraction, I grew to take the falls for granted and failed to see their grandeur. That was corrected somewhat when I brought my children to see the Falls for the first time a few years ago. They were in awe and I got to experience it through their eyes, and rekindled some of that magic. Since then I have had the opportunity to not...

Mount Snow Family Camp is My Kind of Camp!

When I accepted the invitation to attend Mount Snow Family Camp, I didn’t know what to expect. Typically a camp would suggest that we would stay in a tent, a trailer or a cabin, but not at Mount Snow! We were treated to nothing but the best at Mount Snow Family Camp, starting with the three bedroom/three bathroom condo that we stayed in.    Complete with a fireplace, washer and dryer, full kitchen and extremely comfortable memory foam beds, our condo was a retreat all of it’s own. It was also just a short walk away from the Sundance Base...

Another Fantastic Experience with Circle Square Ranch

For the third year in a row, Avery packed up her belongings and headed off to Circle Square Ranch in Brantford for a week of fun. She was not alone this year though, because Griffin also went for his first time. Avery was going for a full week of Discovery Camp while Griffin was going to Junior Camp which is Monday to Friday. We opted to add an extra day for Griffin, so he actually went from Sunday to Friday.   Driving into the ranch is always a fun experience. You turn off of the highway and drive very...
