I was pretty excited to visit Universal Studios Hollywood. I am a movie fanatic, and to visit the place where so many movies are actually made is pretty exciting. I had to educate Kellen about some classic movies like King Kong and Jaws before we went on the Studio Tour, and he was pretty interested to see it all too.
Since the Studio Tours was at the top of our list of things to do, we went straight to it. There was a long line but it was only about a half hour wait and it was totally worth it. The tour took about an hour and we saw so many amazing television and movie sets. Kellen recognized a set that had been used in one of the Spiderman movies, and I was excited to see the spot where the clock tower was in Back to the Future. We also saw great props like vehicles from Jurassic Park, Fast and the Furious, Knight Rider and Back to the Future. We learned how flash floods are made and we found out what it would feel like to be caught in a collapsing building during an earthquake. That may have been a little too realistic because Kellen turned to me and asked if it was a real earthquake while it was happening! Jaws terrified us by jumping at the car, and King Kong put on an amazing 4D show. The Fast and the Furious cars even put on a show for us.
It was fun to see Optimus Prime and Bumble Bee wandering the park, and we really enjoyed seeing how movies like Coraline are made, and a variety of costumes and props from many movies. The new Transformers ride looks amazing, but Kellen wasn’t feeling really brave so we didn’t get to try it out. Hopefully next time!
I have not been there in years, but I remember it being such a blast!!
How fun! I’ve been to Universal and there’s so much to look at and even celebs to see!
I always go to Orlando, but I know I would love this because I’m crazy about Universal!
I really wish I could have taken my son there when he was younger.
My 6 year old would flip out if he saw Bumble Bee wandering around.
