Last month I attended the She’s Connected Conference in Toronto, and had the pleasure of staying in the Renaissance Toronto Downtown Hotel. Located at the Roger’s Center and overlooked by the CN Tower, the Renaissance would be the perfect spot for tourists who don’t often get to experience these things. I get to Toronto often and have seen the CN Tower many, many times…but I was still captivated by the view of it immediately overhead when leaving the hotel.

The really unique thing about the Renaissance Toronto Downtown is the view from many of the rooms…rather than a window to the outdoors, you have a window overlooking the stadium! If you are a big sports fan, you will appreciate this, and if you are not…well, you can choose a street view and not have to worry about it! The picture below shows the view from our open window.

You can see in the picture below (or maybe you can’t), that we could slide the upper windows open and really be a part of the action in the stadium. Closing the windows was fairly effective at blocking out noise too. We did find that it could get a little noisy the night after a game while the stadium was being cleaned. I suppose this is why they provide earplugs to their guests!

The room itself was very spacious. There was equal floor space on either side of the beds (you can see how much space there was in the picture to the left, and we had a large closet and there was a fridge inside of the cabinet under the television.

The hotel staff were friendly and very accommodating when we requested a cot and a late checkout time. We had room service one evening and everything was delicious too.

I am not a sports fanatic, so I probably wouldn’t be anxious to stay in a room overlooking the stadium again, but the hotel itself was gorgeous and I would love to stay again with a street view. Oh…and we met some football players in the hallway too, although I had no idea who they were, lol.

If you are looking for a unique hotel experience and want to enjoy a game at the same time, the Renaissance Toronto Downtown Hotel is definitely the place for you!

  1. Renaissance Hotels are always so nice! I think I agree with you, though, not being a sports fan, I’d probably want to be on the other side of the hotel. 😉

  2. Wow.. I would love to do that!! I looked at tickets for our Vikings home games but they are way to expensive for the rooms like that.
